Definitely worth a second glance! October 27, 2001

This is a gripping novel set just after the Berlin wall has fallen. However it also spans a ten year period previous to that, involving the two main characters and their choices since they first met. It is cleverly written, with both characters taking each chapter in turn to tell the story. You are never quite sure whether Axel, a former (or is he?) KGB officer is telling the truth. The couples journey across Europe, intertwined with the memories of the times they knew each other ten years previously, is both exciting and also gives an insight into the difference of East and West when they come together. A must read!
