2 out of 5 stars have to agree - thumbs down   January 7, 2009
Im a big Kinsella fan and cant wait for the shopaholic movie.
I bought this title on audio book and although i loved the plot i was totally gob smacked when the story so abruptly ended. I was checking my ipod for the second half of the story! Started off so well but as others have said was lacking in so many ways. The biggest disappointment for me was the rushed ending.

4 out of 5 stars A good read   January 4, 2009
Once again, Sophie Kinsella at her best.

A well written story that has highs and lows, but full of humour at the same time. The storyline is very good and well thought and from the offset, you find yourself wanting to know more about Lexi's life and how it progresses throughout the book.

I was very intrigued and managed to finish it in a day and a half - for me that's saying something as I am very fussy about the books I read and if it does not capture my attention from the beginning, I put it down. This is definitely not a put down book.

I look forward to another Sophie Kinsella saga......

5 out of 5 stars Couldn't put it down!   December 30, 2008
I loved Sophie Kinsellas books and hadn't read one for a few years. I waited for this book to come down in price and what a good buy - I absolutely loved reading about Lexi's ordeal (as unfortunate as it was) She appears to have it all but actually things aren't as perfect as they seem... Eric's character is hilarious and the things he says (particularly in the bedroom are classic)
I can't wait to get back home and finish the last 2 chapters of this book!!

4 out of 5 stars Entertaining   December 28, 2008
Poor Lexi, trying to piece her life back together, after a car accident. This book was very easy to read, funny and sad at times. Finding out you are not who you think you are, and people who you thought were your friends don't seem to like you at all, a very funny reference to Mont Blanc, had me in stitches. Good old Lexi, you got there in the end.
Well done Sophie, another good read!

4 out of 5 stars A great effort from Kinsella   December 23, 2008
I started off having reservations about this book; after the first couple of chapters depicting Lexi losing a chunk of her memory I was worried it was going to get too absurd and far-fetched but somehow Kinsella managed to avoid her unusual storyline descending into farce. I note that several reviewers on here have felt that the book was not as good as the Shopaholic series but I personally feel that Kinsella was brave to veer away from Becky and create a new character, and that this was a great effort and full of her usual wit. All in all this an enjoyable read - great escapism!
